Posted by Tina T on
Cats may chew on plants. Cats love to climb and explore and it is difficult to keep plants out of reach. There are over 700 varieties of plants that can be harmful to your cat if ingested. These are 10 of most common ones kept in homes.
It is always wise to assume all parts of a plant are poisonous, though some parts may have a higher concentration of the toxin than others.
If you suspect plant poisoning in your cats and you notice any of the following signs, take your cat to your veterinarian immediateley:
- Difficulty breathing
- Lethargy
- Drooling or difficulty swallowing
- Loss of appetite
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Excessive drinking and urinating
